Bella’s Halfway Home Rescue is a dedicated, non-profit rescue organisation that works tirelessly to give animals a safe and loving future based on West Sussex. We operate completely on donations, and our work is made possible thanks to the generosity of the community and the dedication of our volunteers. Every single person involved with Bella’s Halfway Home Rescue is a volunteer, giving their time and energy to make a difference for animals in need.
We primarily take in animals that people can no longer care for whether due to life changes, unforeseen circumstances, or simply because the animals need more than their current home can provide. If someone is overwhelmed or needs help with an animal be it a cat, livestock, or even wildlife we do our utmost to step in.
While we help a wide variety of animals, we have a particular focus on poultry and waterfowl, ensuring that chickens, ducks, geese, and other birds have a safe place to land. We also do our best to help livestock, though space can be limited so while we may not always have room immediately, we will always try to assist or advise in any way possible.
Cats are also part of our rescue family.
Before any animal is placed in a new home, we conduct thorough home checks to ensure it’s a perfect fit. These checks are also done by volunteers people who are passionate about giving these animals the best possible second chance. We never cut corners when it comes to the animals’ future.
We recognize that sometimes we might be full, but even then, we encourage those in need to reach out we’ll do our best to help, guide, or direct you to solutions. Whether it’s a flock of chickens or a family of ducks, we’ll try to open our doors or at least our network to offer hope.
At Bella’s Halfway Home Rescue, every creature, from the smallest chick to the largest livestock, matters. With compassion and community support, we ensure they all find their halfway home and, ultimately, their forever home.
